To our great joy, there's bits of jazz harp sounding everywhere here this year, played by participants as well as performers. Yesterday, we heard jazzy sounds out of many harpmaker's exhibit rooms, and great blues influences from both
Ailie Robertson ànd Sixto and Juanjo Corbalán on stage.

Oh, and don't forget to take those Kurt's Corner lessons!
Bill Taylor has just had a go and he writes this:

I've been having a blast trying out the online video lessons for jazz harp in Kurt's Corner. They're very well thought out, aiming to introduce basic elements of jazz improvisation in a fun way. Lessons are presented by Kurt on sax and Brenda and Sabine on harp, and include lots of spaces for the student to contribute their own interpretations. Lessons cover copying rhythmic and melodic snippets that can be dropped into appropriate places in the score - and then further developed using musical games. Best of all, it reminds us that learning something new can be cool!
