Camac Harps has generously offered to award four $500 scholarships to support South American participants and the Jazz Harp Foundation will add a global grant of $500.
You can earn one of these scholarships by joining our
Brazilian Jazz Harp Immersion Scholarship Contest:
1. Make a video of you playing
My Little Suede Shoes (a Charlie Parker latin song) or St James Infirmary (also known as St James Infirmary Blues). You may choose to play along to the Jazz Harp Foundation backing track for the song or play it all by yourself, and you are encouraged to improvise on it if possible. Download the backing tracks and lead sheets at www.jazzharp.org/uana-ete.
2. Make a video of you playing a piece of your own choice that inspires you to participate in this course (and tell us why).
3. Upload your videos to our special
Brazilian Jazz Harp Immersion Scholarship Contest Vimeo Group.
4. Post the links to your videos in the
Jazz Harp Academy Facebook Group
5. Register (or pre-register) for the course at
www.jazzharp.org/uana-ete and include the links to your videos there as well.
A specialist committee will determine who wins the scholarships. This does not necessarily depend on level of playing or amount of 'likes', but do show us what you've got, and spread the word about your application as we have a special reward in store for the most popular entry!
The deadline for entries is
February 15, 2016. And all Scholarship Contest participants get to profit from the 'Cuco' Early Bird price until 5 days after the results are published!
We hope to see you in Brazil next Summer!
Quite an endeavour, but a great investment in yourself and your playing,
and surely a time to cherish for years to come!
Wishing you all a generous and swinging festive season.
